Anna Butler Animation

In my animation (Annamation) I use found and household objects. I like to bring objects to life, and show that they have a life beyond their original purpose. I bring home abandoned objects that grab my attention, or fascinate me. I'm intrigued by the unknown story of how they came to be where I found them, and begin to see possible new roles for the objects.

I enjoy the drawn-out, step-by-step process of stop motion animation. The animations generally are abstract, like my drawing and painting and do not portray any narrative. My animations are partly inspired by old industrial machinery and architecture (power station cooling towers for example), which fascinate me.
